About Ski4Nepal
Child poverty in Nepal
Beauty and hardship side by side
Home of 8 of the world’s 14 mountains that are over 8.000 meters high (including Mount Everest), Nepal’s mountains are among the most beautiful in the world—majestic, calm, timeless.
But in their shadows, more than 2 million children face a very different reality in one of the poorest countries in Asia. While the Himalayas rise proudly above them, countless children grow up without enough food, safe shelter, or access to education and healthcare. Organ and human trafficking as well as sexual exploitation are also real dangers that children have to face.
In remote villages, families struggle to survive. Many children face malnutrition, cold winters, and the constant uncertainty that poverty brings.
Yet these children carry extraordinary strength. Their smiles, resilience, and dreams shine brightly against the hardships surrounding them.
With the support of Ski4Nepal we can help them rise—so the beauty of Nepal is reflected not only in its mountains, but in the lives and futures of its children.
About Ski4Nepal
Our solution
A global community with a shared love for the mountains
In the Himalayas, many Nepali children grow up without basic needs. Meanwhile, more than 150 million skiers and snowboarders worldwide share a deep connection to the mountains and enjoy a privileged life.
If just 0.5% of us joined together, that would be over 750,000 people, all united by the same passion. A tiny part of the global ski community could transform an entire generation.
That is the heart of our movement: the heart of Ski4Nepal.org.
We are building a global community of mountain lovers who refuse to stand by while children in the world’s most beautiful mountains struggle to survive. We believe that the mountains connect us for a reason—and together, we can give back to the children who call them home.
